Campaigning Rules in full are here at gov.uk and a summary received by Bob Blezzard from ALDC said:
- From the 8th March you will be able to deliver and doorstep canvass if you are campaigning for any election on 6 May, as long as we follow sensible rules. so please make plans accordingly.
- The advice asks that we keep to a minimum the number of campaigners working together and ensure safe social distancing as well as maintaining existing Covid protection rules like regular hand sanitizing.
- From the 29th March the rule of six will allow for small meetings to be held outdoors. Meaning campaign teams will be able to meet before and after canvassing or delivery sessions.
- Use of committee rooms will be permitted, however precautions must be in place to ensure they are hygienic. It is important that committee rooms are functional only and that no social activity or refreshments are provided.
- Telling will be allowed. Although the normal rules on social distancing and rules on hygiene must be obeyed and it is reasonable to expect that tellers will not be allowed inside polling stations.
