About:

The Isle of Wight Liberal Youth is group of young Liberal Democrat members whose aim is to support young Liberals on the Isle of Wight.The group is made up off any youngLiberal Democrat members under age of 26 or full time students. We are a group of young Liberals seeking to give a voice and opportunities young members. The Liberal Democrats have always believed in supporting young people the Liberal Youth aims to continue that support helping more young people on the Island.

In response the Liberal Youth on the Isle of Wight has taken up a mission as follows:

• To provide a voice for liberal-minded youth and students across the Isle of Wight
• To promote a free and fair society alongside with the Liberal Democrats
• To provide opportunities for Island's youth and students to experience involvement in politics and make connections across the local and national political scene
• To campaign with Isle of Wight Liberal Democrats on local issues relevant to the youth and students of the Island
• To create a open and happy Youth group which welcomes and provides all opportunities for young people from a wide range of backgrounds

Along side working with the Local party the Isle Of Wight Liberal Youth also works with its Parent and national groups to connect Liberal voices on the Island with the rest of the UK.

So our national objectives are:

• To work with Liberal Youth England and Liberal Youth to campaign on national issues relevant to young people and students
• To work with the youth wing of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe on EU-wide campaigns relevant to young people and students

The Isle of Wight Liberal Youth was set up in the idea that young liberal Islanders needed a voice and avenues to participate in helping the party succeed.

Many of the activities we get involved in are helping the local party, canvassing, Youth events, discussions and organised active days. We want to see Liberalism expand on the Island, and get as many young people involved in politics as well!
